Teachers College Students Attitudes toward Teaching and its Relation with some Variables in Saudi Arabia / Ibrahim M. Al-Rashid
The purpose of this study was to investigate attitudes of teachers college students toward teaching and how they are affected by the following variables :
1, Student's major and G.P.A. in both secondary school and college.
2, Level of students , first year - fourth year ,
3, The college in which they study.
A questionnaire of 42 items was developed by the researcher. Reliability of 0.8 was achieved by using Cronbach alpha. The analysis of data showed the following results :
1, Students, in general, have positive attitudes toward teaching .
2, The fourth year students, attitudes were more positive. concerning the preparation for the profession, than those of the first year students.
3, Significant differences in attitudes due to the major in the college were found but not due to both major in the secondary school and G.P.A in college.
4, No significant differences in attitudes were found concerning professional hardships due to college, but they were found concerning three of the instrument dimensions and the instrument as a whole.
5, No significant differences in students attitudes due to G.P.A. in secondary school concerning three of the instrument dimensions and the instrument as a whole were found, but significant differences in students, attitudes were found concerning professional hardships between those of good and excellent grades in favor of the first group.
