The Role of Art Education in the Basic Skills of the Primary School Pupils / Mohamed Abdel Mageed Fadl

This paper investigates the role that art education could play in the development of the basic skills of primary school pupils. The views ofrenowned scholars and art educators were discussed. These included Herbert Read and Viktor Lowenfeld. Theories on art education were also discussed and these included the Discipline - Based Art Education which is dominating the realm of art education nowadays. A short conclusion was made along with a few suggestions.
