Procedures for Evaluating Faculty Members’ Performance in Saudi Universities from the Viewpoint of Deans and Chairmen / Mulaihan M. Athubaity, Ali Saad Al-Karni
The purpose of this study was to determine the significance and utilization of the procedures that are being used by Saudi universities for evaluating faculty members' performance.
To achieve this purpose, a questionnaire was developed and administered to the total population of this research which consisted of 227 deans and department chairmen at four randomly selected universities in Saudi Arabia. Statistical treatment of the data consisted of means. ranks. percentages. chi-square. And analysis of variance. Findings of the study indicated the necessity for evaluating faculty performance through various procedures such as students’ evaluation. peer evaluation. self-evaluation, and chairman evaluation.
