The Effect of the Time Factor on Learning the Recitation of the Holy Qur’an: An Experimental Study / Abdul-Rahman S. Abdullah, Fathi H. Malkawi
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of time on learning the recitation of the Holy Qur'an in the language laboratory. The study was carried out in two sections of the second preparatory class at the Model School of Yarmouk University. Each section was divided into two groups: experimental and control. The experiment lasted thirteen weeks during which the two groups were taught several Suras. Seven tests were given: a pre-test at the beginning of the experiment and six other tests during the experiment. A three - member jury analyzed the recitation of each student. Two-Way ANCOVA was applied to test the significance of differences between the experimental and control groups. The results showed that the language laboratory had a significant effect on learning the recitation of the Qur'an and showed that this effect endured with the lapse of time. ln addition, it was found that the effect of time on the recitation of the Qur‘an showed no significant differences between males and females.
