Comparative Study of Self-Concept among Normal and Learning-Disabled Students / Zaidan A. Al Sartawi
The aim of this study was to compare self-concept between normal and learning-disabled students in the elementary level. To achieve this purpose Peirs-Harris Children's Self-Concept Scale was administered after the researcher assessed its reliability and validity. The sample consists of 119 learning-disabled and 280 normal students.
The results of the srudy revealed:
1- There are significant differences in general self-concept between normal and learning-disabled students. Learning-disabled students have a negative and lower self-concept than normal students.
2- There are significant differences in general self-concept between boys and girls. Boys have a negative and lower self-concept than girls.
