The Contemporary Concept of the Origins of Art Education / Mohamed Abdel Mageed Fadl
This research investigates the concept of the origins of art education. The word origins (usool in Arabic) has two meanings: (1) The origins in the sense of history or emergence or initiation and (2) the essential components or content of the subject. No one has yet covered the first part (in Arabic) and consequently this study concentrated on it. It followed the development of art education since apprenticeship and through the academies of art till this day. The research also included a display of the contents of two books that were published in Arabic. Thereafter a few suggestions that might help explain this concept and enrich the realm of art education are presented.
