The Effect of Using Distance Education on the Achievement Of Female Students  / Saleh M. Al-Debassi

The study aims at testing the differences between two ways of teaching through closed circuit TV. and through distance education, on achievement level of College of Education female students in King Saud University in Riyadh. This study is applied to two groups of level four female students in the College of Education in order to measure the difference in level of academic achievement of education techniques by following one of the above two ways. One of the two groups is determined as a control groop. It consisted of 36 female students, and the other group was considered an experimental group, and it consisted of 35 female students. In order to verify the similar level of achievement between the two groups, the researcher used pretest in education techniques subject in order to measure the change occurring in achievement level as a result of using two ways of teaching. The experiment was conducted through teaching education techniques to the control group through closed circuit TV, while lectures of the same topic were given to the experimental group. The achievement of the female students in both control and experimental groups was assessed by using post test at the end of the academic year _ Two - sample T- tests were used to test the difference of results pre-test and post- test. The results of this study indicated that there is no statistically significant difference , p-value > 0.05,  of pre-test of both control and experimental groups. Results of the test for equality of variances indicated that there is no variances in test scores of the two groups , p — value > 0.05, . From these results, the researcher could find that there is no difference in the achievement level of both groups. The results showed that there is no statistically significant difference in post test scores between control and experimental groups at high significance level , p- value = 0.001, . The results also indicated that average scores of the experiment at group in education techniques subjects exceeded the scores of control group. From these results, the researcher found that distance education is better than the traditional way of teaching through using closed circuit TV, particularly in terms of achievement,
