Dimensions of Scientific Literacy in Saudi Society / Hiya Mohammed Almzroa .
This study is an attempt to reach a framework for scientific literacy in Saudi Society. Using descriptive research methods the study aimed at the following 1-Determining major Scientific literacy dimensions. 2-Determining scientific literacy dimensions for Saudi citizens. 3-Surveying the experts about those dimensions. The researcher prepared a list of the issues and problems critical to Saudi society and surveyed scientists and science educator's perceptions concerning the importance of the list. It was concluded that scientific literacy dimensions should include the following: The nature of science, scientific methodology, science society and technology STS, and basic scientific knowledge. The study suggested the need to signify scientific literacy goal in education, media, and other society organizations. It also recommended establishing a national plan for scientific literacy.
