An Analytical Study of Child Rights in Arabic Language Textbooks in the First Three Grades in Jordan / Imad T, Sa'di

This study aims at identifying the extent to which Arabic language textbooks in the first three elementary grades in Jordan incorporate child rights, and whether comprehension questions ask about such rights, in addition, the reflection of child rights in the educational pictures has been examined. For the purpose of the study, a list of {35,  rights has been developed. The list covers three dimensions of rights: survival, protection and development rights . The Results show that the highest percentage of child rights incorporation is in the development domain. whereas the lowest is in the protection one. The findings also show a critical lack of comprehension questions in the textbooks asking about child rights. In addition, a good percentage of child rights is reflected in the educational pictures. Depending upon the results of this study some recommendations have been suggested,
