Reasons for Secondary School Teachers' Dislike of Educational Supervisors as Perceived by Supervisors, School Principals and Teachers in UAE / Eid Dirani
This study aims at identifying the reasons for secondary schools teachers' dislike of educational supervisors as perceived by the supervisors, school principals and teachers in UAE secondary schools. It also seeks finding out whether there are significant differences between the mean scores of the three groups due to the nature of work, gender, specialization, qualifications and number of years of experience. To collect data, a questionnaire consisting of thirty items and one open-ended question was constructed. its reliability and validity were established where r = 0.92. The results of the study reveal significant differences between the mean scores of the three groups in accordance with the nature of work and gender. It further shows a wide range of reasons why secondary school teachers dislike of educational supervisors such as: unannounced classroom visitations, lack of appreciation of the teachers accomplishment and efforts, and the superiority in dealing with teachers. In the light of the results of this study, several recommendations were introduced, among which were the emphasis on using human relations in dealing with teachers, and to familiarize supervisors with the new trends in educational supervision.
