The Clinical Value of the WAIS in the Diagnosis of Organic Brain Damage / El Sheikh R. Ibrahim
Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale is the most widely used psychological test in the area of neuropsychology, though it was not originally designed to assess the effects of brain damage. This psychometric tool is not sufficient enough. if used alone. to diagnose brain damage. Different types of brain damage produce different patterns of effects on the WAIS. There is no one pattern which is produced by all forms of brain damage that is distinct from some functional problems. This paper deals with the effects of different brain damage on the WAIS and their clinical interpretations.
