General Considerations of National Plans for Training Professionals in Special Education and Rehabilitation / Yousef Qaryouti

The lack of trained professionals in the fields of re rehabilitation and special education in the Arab World is considered to be a limiting factor for the development of services for the handicapped. Therefore. national plans for the development of human resources in the Arab region. should give a higher priority for training programs of special education and rehabilitation professionals. The aim of this study is to article the major factors which should be considered by short-term and long-term plans for training professionals to work with the disabled. The study also discussed in detail various levels and methods of training assumed to be appropriate for the Arab countries. Based on the present status of existing training programs several recommendations were suggested. one of which is the establishment of a regional center for training and information on disability.
