Psychometric Properties of the Watson — Glaser Critical Thinking Appraisal Short form , WGCTA — SF, Study among a Sample of Students Teachers at Saudi Context / Khaled Alotaibi
The purpose of this study is to examine the psychometric properties of the Watson — Glaser Critical thinking Appraisal Short form , WGCTA — SF, as tools that measures critical thinking containing , 40, items, and measuring five skills: Inference, Recognition of Assumptions, Deduction, Interpretation and EVol.ution of Argument with is , 16, different scenarios. The test was administered to random a sample of 400 students from Teachers College — King Saud University. The results revealed that the , WGCTA — SF, is a valid and reliable test. Factor analysis revealed five factors identifying the same factor of the original instrument. The values of correlation coefficients ranged between dimensions and total score for the test between , .801 — . 301, which shows the validity of constructivist, also, the results found signification relation between this test and other critical thinking test which shows the validity of criterion — related and with reliability in a re — test was , .78, and alpha was , 0.80, . The results of the study found differences between students of theoretical and scientific department on , WGCTA — SF, for the favor of the students of scientific department. The study also found differences between students of high academic level and low academic level on , WGCTA — SF, for the favor of the students of high academic level. In general, the results show that , WGCTA — SF, has good psychometric properties for use in research and educational of university students.
