The Effect of Proposed Training Program to Develop Action Research Skills in Social Studies Teachers in Jordan / Mohammad Salameh Bakheet, Ibrahim Al — Qaoud
The purpose of the present study is to beld a training program designed to develop action research skills in an intentionally selected sample , N=15, of social studies teachers within Irbid first Directorate of Education. To achieve the study objectives, a 50 — item test measuring familiarity with action research skills among social studies teachers was developed. The training program was belt In light of test results. To measure mastery of action research skills among social studies teachers, the researcher developed an open — ended essay test. Results revealed that 100% of items on the familiarity with action research skills among social studies teachers were below mastery level, so all items of test of familiarity with action research skills were implied in the proposed training program designed based on the action research skills among social studies teachers. Further results indicated a significant difference at , a=0.05, between mean levels of familiarity with action research skills on pre and post — application of the program, in favor of post — application compared with pre — application. The conclusion advised Ministry of Education, teachers, and other academic institutions to adopt the proposed training program based on action research skills.
