Saudi Secondary School (Courses System) Extent in Achieving its Goals From Students’ Perspectives / Saleh Abdullah M. Alabdulkareem
The research aimed to explore how Saudi male and female students evaluate how the new secondary school (Courses System)
achieved its goals, and how they see their benefits from this system. A sample of 2274 male and female students in seven educational
administrations surveyed. The survey included two main parts: firstly: the new secondary school (Courses System) goals, and ended with
open question, secondly, the benefits from new secondary school (Courses System), ended also with open question. Results revealed that
most participants held a general positive view that the new secondary school (Courses System) achieved major goals like: acquiring Islamic
knowledge and behaviors, some life skills, and improving communication abilities; in the mean time they believe that there are some goals
need more support like, increasing attitudes toward work, supporting practical practices and physical skills, and increasing physical
education, arts, and outdoor activities. In terms of gender, female students were positively higher than male students perceptions in regards
their benefits from this system.
