The Extent of Achieving the National Standards for the Professional Development by Islamic Education Teachers from the Perspectives of School Principals, Islamic Education Teachers and Supervisors  / Sadeq Al — Shudaifat,HatoufSammarh,Randa Mahasneh

The purpose of this study was to find out the extent of achieving National Standards for Teachers Professional Development from the perspectives of high school Islamic Education teachers, supervisors, and school principals. The sample included 143 male and female teachers, 36 principals, and 11 supervisors. To achieve the purposes of the study, the National Standards for Teachers Professional Development Questionnaire was used. It contains 56 items covering six domains, after verifying their validity and reliability. The results revealed that the degree of teachers' achievement of the national standards from their perspective was high, especially on the domain Implementing Instruction. Moreover, the results showed that the degree of implementing the National standards were high, especially in the domain of Professional Ethics. Whereas, the domain Implementing Planning for Instruction received the highest degree from supervisors' perspectives. Furthermore, the present study found that there were no statistically significant differences in achieving the National Standards attributed to sex or instructional experience; however, there was a significant difference attributed to teachers' qualifications in favor of master's degree or higher. In light of the results of this study, several recommendations and implications were introduced.
