Obstacles to continuous education centers in the Yemeni public universities in practicing their role of community service / Mohammed Naji meherz. Altabali, and Abdulaziz A Alsunbul

Abstract

This study investigate the obstacles facing Yemen universities continuous education centers in playing their role to serve the community from the viewpoint of professors and workers in the centers. The study aimed also to know if there are significant statistical differences in those obstacles related to university variable. The study used the descriptive methodology and therefore, applied a questionnaire on (56) workers in the centers, and (196) professors from Aden, Hodeida and Dammar universities. The findings of the study showed that the continuing education centers at universities face higher degree administrative, human, technical, teaching, policy, and legislative obstacles that hinder their role in serving the community, and medium degree financial and material obstacles. Findings also showed statistically significant difference in the mean scores of some obstacles between the Universities of Aden and Hodeida in favor of Hodeida University. Statistically significant difference in the mean scores of the sample views of some obstacles between the Universities of Hodeida and Dammar in favor of Hodeida University. No statistically significant difference in the mean score were found in the sample's views about the obstacles between the Universities of Aden and Dammar.
